Earlier this summer, I designed a tea towel for Women’s Aid Orkney. I had many people get in touch with heart warming stories of people gifting them to friends and even one being bought to frame for a new-born babies’ nursery.
I am delighted to tell you that this design is now available to pre-order from 11th October, and here is why it makes a difference.
By buying the tea towel, you are making a donation to Women’s Aid Orkney who support women and children affected by domestic abuse.
I found having positive words and phrases in plain sight had a positive impact on the way I spoke and thought about myself and chose to have them in front of me, especially in my home and studio.
I hope you all repeat this mantra to yourselves daily:
You are beautiful
You are kind
You are smart
You are lovely
You are gorgeous
You are amazing
You are phenomenal
You are worth it
You are perfect
You are strong
By pre-ordering the tea towel, you are also helping the environment. Instead of purchasing more stock than I need, or even worse, not enough, I can order the right amount. Think of it like an investment in a local business.
If you would like to invest the first batch of tea towels, they can be ordered this week starting on the 11th of October and ending on the 17th of October from here The order will then take 7 days to come home – why 7 days? This item is digitally printed, and hand finished in Scotland. It will then be sent direct to Orkney for dispatch to you.
I hope you enjoy this design for the humble tea towel, an item that myself and Morgan Maxton from Women’s Aid Orkney hold in high esteem as an ideal item to brighten up your kitchen.
So, say NO to boring tea towels and get some positivity right in front of you!
The artwork for this teatowel is a combination of my own handwriting and an original print my Kelly Marwick for her degree show at Orkney College UHI. Where I spotted it and kept it in my mind for a special project. This felt like the right project for this beautiful print.
