Reflections Bedtime Duvet Set

When Jo Neaser of ‘Inspired by Orkney’ and I started discussing her business idea earlier this year it felt like a great fit to create a design especially for her range.  Having known Jo for quite some time and having visited her lovely home and learned more about her passion for great products, fashion, music, sparkle and Dolly Parton, I was looking forward to creating something new with a different perspective.  

For this design I took what I had been working on for homeware. I looked at the colours of the sea overlooking Hoy, artwork and items around Jo’s home and then worked on a colour palette. The first stage designs were still very bold in the balance and proportions of colour. Whilst discussing this with Jo she said the word ‘calm’. I paired back what I had been working on, simplified it and added more shades of chalky white to give the design a little more serenity.  Then it felt right for Jo’s home which is at the heart of her business concept.

The collection is aptly named, ‘Reflections’. It is taken from Jo’s inspiration of her song ‘Reflected in His Eyes’ which was written wandering the shoreline on a beautiful sunny day near her home."
